The Association of Contemporary Art Galleries from the Valencian Community, LaVAC, are going to celebrated the V edition of Abierto Valencia, a gallery weekend to celebrate the opening of the new artistic season in Valencia, that takes place on Friday 29th of September.

To celebrate the event, each art gallery will offer a aperitif during the gallery walk, from 5 p.m to 22 p.m. The visitors would enjoy attending to several opening and discovering new national and international artists that will be showcasing an exciting range of works in Abierto Valencia.

The same day will be announced the Best Exhibition Award at the V edition of Abierto Valencia, awarded by Conselleria d ́Educació, Investigació, Cultura i Esport, the decision will make by the following jury: Inma Corcho, Director ABC Museum. Sandra Moros, Conservator of IVAM. José Luis Pérez Pont, CCCC Director. Manuel Segade, Director CA2M. Director CA2M. Gandía Blasco, Colección DKV y Fundación Hortensia Herrero, will acquire art works to his corporative art collections.

This year the art galleries that are going to be part of Abierto Valencia are: Mr Pink, Espai Visor, Rosa Santos, Luis Adelantado, Paz y Comedias, Galería Shiras, Set Espai d’Art, Galería Thema, Galería 9, Benlliure, Alba Cabrera, Espai Tactel, Plastic Murs y Pepita Lumier. As novelty, the Aural art gallery from Alicante, is going to show his exhibition at the Tossal Gallery. This is possible thanks to a special collaboration between LaVAC and the Valencia town hall.

We have organized a panel discussion titled: “Projects of contemporary art and patronage from private and corporate collecting “. For the first time we are having an important collaboration with Acción Cultural Española, AC/E http://www.accioncultural.es/.  This year we our international guest will be involved in our cultural activities.

The chair person of the panel discussion will be Iciar Sánchez-Mangas., and we will have the following guests: María Beguiristain. Head of Art and Exhibitions at Fundación Banco Santander. Omar López- Chahoud. Independent curator and Artistic Director UNTITLED. Sergio Sancho. Director URVANITY. Olivier von Schulthess. Collector and patron.

The panel discussion will take place on Friday 29th, in the Hall of Acts of the IVAM and will be open to the public.

“Arco Gallery Walk” will take place on Saturday 30th of September, to learn about the history of the gallery and their artist.  As every year, AVALEM will be in charge organizing guided tours of the art galleries.

Every edition,  Abierto Valencia aims to became an unavoidable event, that attracts collectors, art lovers, experts, critics, curators, and artists but also it goal is connect people to Contemporary Art through  a simple and easy way.
